The Power Swing out Seat Unit has been designed for improved rear side door application in most vans. Emphasis has been placed on maximising the vertical travel of the seat unit. This allows easy installation into larger vans that have greater floor to ground height.
The Power Swing out Seat Unit turns out of the vehicle and descends toward the ground. It also travels away from the side of the vehicle during its descent. It can be stopped at any position during this process by simply releasing the control switch. The unit can be operated by the passenger or their attending caregiver.
At the end of the seat unit's outward travel, the passenger can easily complete a transfer to a wheelchair at the suitable required height. This seat unit is not only suitable for the private user, but can be a valuable aid in the transferring of elderly rest home residents. Once inside the vehicle, if required, the passenger can transfer to a fixed seating position and the seat unit can be re-deployed for other passengers.

Optional Euro type seat
The Gentle Giant™ Power Swing out Seat Unit can be sold with an optional Euro type approved seat. The Euro seat has a removable cloth trimmed back and base. This allows soiled or damaged trim to be replaced with minimal effort and time. If required, the standard trim colour can be easily changed by the installer to match the interior of the customer's vehicle.
